Our Story

In 2021, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, Upstreamed was born out of a critical need for greater transparency, collaboration, and rapid innovation in healthcare. As an Army doctor on the front lines, I saw firsthand how gatekeeping and bias slowed critical breakthroughs — even when lives were at stake. Motivated by frustration but propelled by hope, I joined forces with my brother, an engineer, to build a platform that breaks down these barriers and helps turn visionary ideas into real-world impact.

The name “Upstreamed” embodies our commitment to tackling issues at their source, inspired by the philosophy of upstream medicine—addressing problems before they become crises. This vision underpins everything we do: empowering clinicians and researchers to share discoveries more rapidly, collaborate globally, and eliminate the obstacles that can halt progress.
